It’s hot and cold; it’s up and down. BattleTech BattleMat Fire and Ice 012 Magma Fjords is a high-quality neoprene hexmat for mechbattles big and small. Combine with the rest of the Fire and Ice series for a megamap.
The neoprene surface has just enough grip that my mechs don't slide when the table gets bumped, and it rolls flat almost immediately out of the tube. Hexes line up cleanly with standard templates too.
The contrast between the glowing magma channels and the icy blue fjord edges makes it so easy to pick out hexes at a glance, even mid-battle chaos. I’ve rolled it out on a few different tables and the neoprene grips well without sliding around.
The neoprene surface lies perfectly flat during play—no curling corners or slipping, even after a three-hour session. The magma fjord artwork makes each fire-and-ice map feel like a real tactical decision point.
