Grabbed these to fill out a last-minute session and ended up using three as instant NPCs without any prep. The spread of metatypes and archetypes means there's almost always someone who fits the scene. Handy to have pre-gens ready when a player's character goes down mid-run too.
The variety here is killer—40 different characters means I can throw together a random NPC in seconds without flipping through books. The mix of metatypes and archetypes is solid enough that I've used them as quick pre-gens for players who didn't want to build from scratch. Layout's all lined up and
Forty characters is a solid roster, and I like that they cover different metatypes and archetypes so I'm not scrambling to reskin the same NPC twice. Only gripe is that a few of the stat blocks run a bit generic for named villains, but as quick drop-ins they do the job.
