The Northwind Highlanders were founded in 2362 with the formation of the First Kearny Highlanders by Clan Stuart, a group of Scots that included the descendants of the last vestiges of the original Scottish regiments on Terra. The Highlanders achieved fame far and wide through human space even before the Star League was formed. Later, they were of the League's more respected units by the SLDF, and the Royal Black Watch members who protected the First Lord were mainly recruited from the best Highlanders. Includes the Warhammer, Grasshopper, Highlander, and Gunslinger

The Scots-inspired detail on these mechs is a nice touch, and the lance packs a solid mix of weight classes for tabletop play. Everything arrived on sprue with no bent parts, which I've had issues with before.

The pose variety alone makes this lance feel like a proper unit on the shelf—the sculpts really capture that Scottish regimental swagger. Assembly was straightforward with minimal flash, and the detail on the kilts and claymores is crisp enough that I actually enjoyed painting the tartan patterns.
