BattleTech: Paint Starter

Ten bottles is way more paint than I expected for a starter set, and the colors cover pretty much everything I needed for my first lance. Thinned down nicely right out of the bottle, no clumping.

The brush that came in this kit is actually decent for detail work on the smaller panels, which surprised me since starter brushes are usually junk. Ten colors gave me enough to do a full lance without mixing anything. Painting my first 'Mech took about two hours and the acrylic went on smooth.

Ten bottles felt like a lot until I realized how fast I'd run through the base colors on a full lance of mechs. The paint goes on smooth without thinning much, and coverage on the flat panels is solid after two coats. Good starting point if you've never painted minis before.
